Course summary:

This course provides practical and experiential training in project management specifically for health care. Participants will learn project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling. They will also develop skills in managing the triple constraint and aligning stakeholders. Additionally, the course covers initiating change, project prioritization, business analysis, performance improvement and effective facilitation.

Course description:

This course is a practical and experiential orientation to project management processes and methodology specifically as applied to healthcare. Participants will engage in project initiation including organizational alignment and charter development. Project planning will explain and clarify concepts including stakeholder requirements, development of work breakdown structure, scheduling, and resourcing. Participants will also build competency in project execution, monitoring and controlling. The course will include management of triple constraint (time, cost, schedule) and skills to align sponsors and critical stakeholders. Lastly, the course will integrate key concepts of initiating change, project prioritization, business analysis, performance improvement and effective facilitation.

Who should take this course?

This course is an introduction to how to manage projects in health care. It’s ideal for the executive, frontline leader, physician and novice lean practitioner. Rising stars working in a frontline position will also benefit as the course will position them for growth.
