In 2015, AJ transitioned to the nonprofit sector with the Security Advisor Alliance, where he built a vibrant community of information security professionals dedicated to advancing cybersecurity talent.

As GCC’s Director of Programs and Administration, AJ leads initiatives like the Secure Pathways workshop series, the Washington University Cyber Roundtable, and the SPARK Micro Internship Program, while supporting organizational administration. His passion for professional development drives GCC’s mission to connect emerging talent with the needs of academia, industry, and government.

Maurice Mahone brings over 30 years of IT expertise, spanning government roles, including the Department of Defense at the Pentagon, and leadership in industries such as agriculture, biotechnology, and financial services. At the Federal Reserve Bank, he led technology teams managing U.S. Treasury programs.

In the nonprofit sector, Maurice has helped over 70 underrepresented St. Louis high school graduates secure software development careers.

As GCC's Executive Director, Maurice leverages his IT expertise and extensive network to drive strategy, operations, and workforce development in cybersecurity. A U.S. Army veteran, he is also an avid photographer and President of the St. Louis BDPA Chapter.
