Deceiving and Lying with Data

Data increasingly shapes our world. Can you trust everything you hear or read? Can you trust how others are using this data? Misrepresentation and bias in data skews our perspectives and understanding of the world. In this session we will discuss how to become more literate about data, how to evaluate what you see, and challenging the results.
Roundtable Speakers:
Angelique has a wealth of experience in insight-oriented statistical modeling, clustering, NLP, predictive modeling, anomaly detection, optimization, and other machine learning and data analytic techniques. She has also managed a variety of projects involving database design with electronic medical record, claims, pharmacy, supply chain, and market research data, working seamlessly across numerous data platforms, from PostGRES to Hadoop to Big Query.
With outstanding communication skills, the consultant is able to effectively convey complex methodologies to non-technical audiences. In addition, she has presented at national conferences, co-authored numerous journal articles and book chapters, and served as a mentor and leader to junior analysts.
